Not cool, Robert Frost!

Let's make the world AWESOME!

You've probably already seen this video, but in case you haven't, here's your chance!
I couldn't contain my laughter the first time I saw this video. This little boy is just too cute and funny. I instantly loved it. I caught my self re-watching and, with all the jokes aside, I really loved what this kid was sayin'. It's so easy to get caught up in the world and all the craziness that we forget about the important (little) things in life.

So here is your reminder.

Weekend Fun

Another fun weekend has come and gone. I think I've said this already, but I really do have the best weekends.

We kicked off the weekend by seeing Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters at a super cute dinner theater. The movie was entertaining, but nothing I fell in love with. However, the dinner theater we went to was really nice. It even had a long red carpet rolled out for us :p. We've been to 2 different dinner theaters in the past month, a new favorite maybe?

On Saturday I got to spend time with my best friend. She took me to a certified green restaurant in Sugar Land Town Square called Ruggles Green. I wish I had taken a picture of my food, but I didn't waste any time. It was really good and even better that it was all natural. She also surprised me with a new Erin Condren teacher planner. It's the most amazing thing ever and perfect for new teachers! It has a monthly planner, class lists, personalized stickers, lesson plan pages, and a ton of other great stuff. Not to mention, it's super cute and stylish.  I can't wait to start filling in my teacher life in this amazing thing! Thanks again, Steph! You're the best.

The rest Saturday was spent with C at a BWW watching the Rockets game.  While we were watching the game we saw a commercial for a place called Main Event just down the road in Katy and since we were already halfway there we decided to check it out. It was huge! They had bowling, a big arcade, laser tag, ropes courses, and a bar and grill type thing. We played games and bowled.  Anddd C won the jackpot on a couple of the games, which means we got lots and lots tickets :).  It was definitely a blast!

On Sunday after church we were surprised with an adventurous day trip to Galveston with C's sweet grandma. It was the perfect day with perfect weather. We ate some of the best sea food I've ever had and spent the afternoon walking up and down The Strip.

the buildings were amazing and so colorful!

I did it, y'all!

It's true, I did it. I made the big move from the Alamo City to (how C would refer to it) Clutch City (Rockets fan, anyone?).

Once I graduated I realized I could pretty much go anywhere. I was no longer bound to San Antonio. Even though I loved it and my time there, I knew it was time for a new adventure.  Aside from being humongo, I really love it here. It has so much to offer and there are so many fun things to do. Plus, where I moved to is a suburb of Houston, so it's far enough away to where I feel comfortable in the area that I'm in.

Next step. Start my teaching job in special education! Before graduation I started filling out applications to school districts in both Houston and San Antonio. I had a few interviews, which I was very thankful for being a December graduate, but one in particular has been my #1 choice. My best friend, Stephanie is a 2nd grade teacher at a school in the district we live in and long story short, we will be teaching in the same school very soon!

God is so good to me and I'm so thankful for all of the exciting things that are happening. I just have to remember to continue to pray for patience and an increase of faith daily.
This growing up thing can be hard!

Weekend Fun

Happy to say it was another relaxing, fun filled weekend. Weekends with Corey really are the best. Whether it's staying in all weekend long or out and about going out, we always have a blast. This past weekend we enjoyed a night out on Friday night. We went to Sugar Land's Town Center, which is one of my favorite parts of my new soon to be home. The area is so pretty and alive. We went to Flying Saucer, which is apparently the place to be in that area. It was packed! We enjoyed a couple of beers with names we couldn't pronounce and got to hang out with one of Corey's friends. Due to our post-grad old age we definitely don't go out as much as we used to, but when we do we always have a fun time.
After sleeping late, my sweet boyfriend made us yummy pancakes. He really knows how to take care of a girl after a night of drinking! We spend the rest of the day out and about and ended up with these babies!

I'm not really a tennis shoe wearer, but I want need to start being active again and have been convinced that new shoes would help me start/get motivated. Good reason to get new shoes right? ;) But really, I'm looking forward to getting in shape as I start this new adultish life. On that note, we had a delicious, greasy dinner at a local grill in Richmond followed by this yummy goodness.

At least it's fro-yo right? For the longest time I could not get C to eat fro-yo with me. His argument was always that ice cream could not be replaced, but finallyyyyy he gave in. Needless to say, we've had many fro-yo dates since then. We have our ritual where he gets his chocolatey fix on one side and I get my fruity/anythingnotchocolatey fix. It works out perfectly. Towards the end of the night we made a quick trip to Wal-Mart where we ran into these blasts from our pasts.

Anyone remember these?! These gourmet lolly pop were huge fundraisers for everyone throughout middle school and high school. I'm pretty sure I remember buying one at school everyday. Despite the huge fro-yo cup we had just had, we had to have one that night. Pink Lemonade for him and Cherry for me.
Our Sunday was our typical lazy Sunday. He HAD to watch the football game, since it's apart of his job now (a boy's dream right?), and I got to watch Disney movies on TV all day (and night). Once the game was over we had a romantic pizza dinner while we watched Cinderella and The Lion King. And ended our weekend with this...

Lots and lots of TV

This month is going by sooo slow for me! The past week and a half I've watched more tv than I have in a long time. A long time ago I started re-watching Glee from the beginning and finally finished season 3 this past week. I'll always love that show.

Then, out of boredom, I decided I would give Downton Abbey a shot since it was on Netflix. I had never heard of it until around Christmas time when Corey's grandmother had talked about it. I then began to notice it everywhere. Who knew PBS had such a popular show going on?  Once I watched the first episode I could not stop. I absolutely loved it. I'm a big history nerd, so that may have something to do with it. It's a great historical fiction and will definitely have you hooked. Unfortunately, Netflix only has season 1 right now, so needless to say, I'm dying to see season 2 and 3.

Just wait, it gets better!

I came to Houston to spend the weekend with Corey and we ended up having a very, verrrry lazy weekend. I usually complain and get restless when we're lazy all weekend long, but we got hooked on something that definitely made it more enjoyable. As we were scrolling through Netflix we came across seasons 1 and 2 of The Walking Dead. We decided we'd give it a try since we had both heard good things about it from other people. Once again, hooked! We watched all day long on both Saturday and on Sunday. We did end up taking a break and going to dinner and a movie on Saturday night, which was a nice treat. We saw the new Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone movie, Gangster Squad, which we both really liked. We got home pretty late, but both decided we were up for another zombie episode before bed.

I complain about getting to be so lazy sometimes, but I know very soon I won't have any time to, so until then I'll just enjoy it :].

Hello, 2013!

As I tossed and turned a few hours into the new year I began thinking how awesome 2012 was to me.  Some of my most favorite moments happened in 2012. I celebrated 1 year with Corey, went to Disney World for the first time, reconnected with my dad, student taught, became a certified special education teacher, and ended the year off by becoming an alumna of The University of Texas at San Antonio! Whew! Talk about one of the craziest, yet one of the most amazing years of my life.

Now that I have officially graduated college real life begins right?

My hope for this new blogging adventure is to record an abundant amount of favorite moments, share my successes in this new chapter of my life as a grown up, and occasionally show you a craft or two.
